Hey I haven’t seen any post since September so I’m not sure if this is a current thread, however if it is I have a 14×76 singlewide imperial brand from what I was told there are no labels left where they should be. I inherited the mobile home and did some work and remodeled the kitchen. There was a short wall between the living room and kitchen maybe 2′ at most I removed. At the time I figured it was just a divider wall and a place for the original cabinets to end since they were built to the wall.

I can’t give tell you for sure if your wall is load-bearing but in most cases, single wides can be modified fairly easily. Gypsum is a natural mineral used for blackboard chalk, drywall, and wallboards in mobile homes. It’s affordable, lightweight, and doesn’t require finishing which makes it a perfect material for ceilings.
The most common type of ceiling is the dropped ceiling, which is suspended from structural elements above. Panels of drywall are fastened either directly to the ceiling joists or to a few layers of moisture-proof plywood which are then attached to the joists. Pipework or ducts can be run in the gap above the ceiling, and insulation and fireproofing material can be placed here. Alternatively, ceilings may be spray painted instead, leaving the pipework and ducts exposed but painted, and using spray foam. Many techniques can be used to increase comfort and reduce the temperature in buildings.
